Remodelr · Last updated: July 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Joshua Shelton ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information through the Remodelr mobile application and related services (the "Service"). Remodelr is a tool for residential remodeling contractors to create estimates, manage projects, generate invoices, and sync with accounting software.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide as a contractor

Information about your clients and projects

When you use the Service, you enter information about your clients and jobs, which may include:

You are responsible for having the appropriate rights and permissions to provide this information about your clients.

2. How We Use Information

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with the following third-party service providers only as needed to operate the Service:

We share the minimum information necessary for each provider to perform its function, and only to deliver the features you use. For example, data is only sent to Intuit if you connect QuickBooks and choose to push a document, and data is only sent to Anthropic after you grant permission to use an AI feature.

AI processing, your consent, and third-party protection

AI-assisted features (estimate generation, material lists, and build plans) are optional. Before any project details or photos are sent to Anthropic, the app discloses what will be shared and asks for your explicit permission. You can review this disclosure at any time from the app menu under “AI & data sharing.” No project data is sent to the AI service unless you grant permission.

Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its AI models, and maintains privacy and security safeguards that are equal to or more protective than those described in this Policy. You can review Anthropic's practices in its Privacy Policy and Commercial Terms of Service.

Client contact details. Your clients' contact records — names, email addresses, and phone numbers — are kept for your use and are not sent to Anthropic as separate data. Because the scope description you write is sent in order to generate results, please avoid typing sensitive personal information into the scope unless it is needed for the estimate.

Photos. Job-site photos are downscaled and re-encoded on your device before they are sent, which removes embedded location (EXIF/GPS) metadata. The image content is transmitted so the AI can analyze it, but the original file's location data is not.

Voice walkthroughs. When you record a voice walkthrough, the audio is transcribed using Apple's speech recognition — on your device when your device supports it. The resulting text becomes your scope description, which is only sent to Anthropic if you then choose to generate an estimate.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.

4. QuickBooks Data

If you connect your QuickBooks Online account, we store the authorization tokens needed to sync on your behalf. We do not store your QuickBooks login credentials. You can disconnect QuickBooks at any time from within the app (Settings → QuickBooks → Disconnect), which revokes our access through Intuit's revoke endpoint.

5. Data Storage and Security

Much of your data is stored locally on your device. Account and synced data is stored with our cloud providers (Neon and Vercel) using industry-standard safeguards. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

7. Your Choices

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by contractors and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
